40 Hours Thai Massage Training
Nuad Bo-Rarn, the ancient massage of Thailand (Northern style), has origins dating back more than two millenia. Its blending of rhythmic acupressure and assisted stretches provides deep relaxation and revitalizes mind and body. Some have called it "passive yoga" or "yoga for lazy people." Thai massage is given on a mat on the floor with the client fully clothed. Benefits of Thai massage include opening blockages, freeing meridian energy, promoting blood and lymphatic flow, and increasing range of motion and flexibility.
Mr. Therdchai "Mac" Chumphoopong is a fourth generation practitioner of Thai massage. Mac trained at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He was a teaching assistant for more than five years for Master Teacher Chongkol Setthakorn, founder of ITM, the Institute of Thai Massage, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Mac will teach the traditional front, back, side-lying and seated sequences for full-body massage. Mac will also teach techniques for a warm Thai herbal massage.

Sandra Trevor, owner of Oasis Mind/Body Center of Encinitas, California, will lead an optional Astanga-based yoga class each morning. These asanas will help to open blockages in the body and mind in preparation for the giving of a Thai massage.
